Das Verkehrsteehaus ist das einzige erhaltene Teehaus in Chongqing, das den verblassten Stil der 70er oder 80er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts konserviert hat. Das Dach und die Wände sind traditionell ornamentiert.

Treue Stammkunden können für nur 20 Cent einen ganzen Tag im alten Teehaus verbringen und sich am Tee aus ihren geliebten Tassen erfreuen. Aber auch die Jugend schätzt diese traditionelle Kultur und die ursprünglichen Klänge, die aus dem Teehaus dringen, welche auch bereits ihre Elterngeneration in ihren Bann zogen.

Dies ist nicht nur ein Mikrokosmos des traditionellen Chinas, sondern auch eines der wenigen übrig gebliebenen Refugien, welche noch nicht der rasanten Entwicklung der heutigen chinesischen Gesellschaft zum Opfer gefallen sind. Doch auch diesem magischen Ort, an dem die Zeit langsamer zu vergehen scheint, droht immer wieder der Abriss. Mit seinem Schwinden würde nicht nur das Teehaus selbst, sondern auch eine soziale Begegnungssätte, eine Brücke zwischen der Vergangenheit und dem Jetzt, verloren sein.
